How to Edit Tracks in Trip Planner

GPS drop-outs. Wrong turns. GPS tracks can get messy—fast. Use the Trip Planner tool to clean up chaotic tracks and routes. In this quick guide, learn how to join tracks, edit track points, and split tracks. Get started:

• Log into Trimbleoutdoors.com.

• In the navigation bar, click the My Dashboard link

• Find trip you want to edit. Under the Options column, select Edit Map. The trip opens in the Trip Planner tool.

From here, select how you want to modify the track.

EDIT TRACK POINTS

Use this process to clean up squirrely track lines.

• Select Trip Details tab on left-hand side of screen.

• Pick the track you want to edit. A pop-up box will open where you see the name and description of the track.

• Each track is made up of dozens of connected dots (also called breadcrumbs). Hover over the track line to see all the dots. Click on the dot to see several menu options. You can delete points and insert points as needed.

• Hit the Save button under the Trip Details tab.

MERGE TRACKS

Use this process to join separate tracks.

• Select Trip Details tab on left-hand side of screen.

• Pick the track you want to merge. A pop-up box will open where you see the name and description of the track.  In that box, select the Merge with link option.

• Select the second track to join together. The last point of the first track will join with the first point of the second track.

SPLIT TRACK

Use this process to cut tracks and routes.

• Select Trip Details tab on left-hand side of screen.

• Pick the track you want to split. A pop-up box will open where you see the name and description of the track. Close box.

• Hover over the select track to see all the dots. Click on the dot where you want to split the track.

• Select Split Track option. The track is now two tracks. Rename the tracks as needed.

• Hit the Save button in the Trip Details tab.
